Shayna Meliker

Shayna Meliker is an editor at Vetstreet.com — a career for which a lifetime of petting dogs has prepared her.

Her love of pets began when, as a toddler, she rode her neighbor's 120-pound Chocolate Lab like a horse. She now has a white Cockapoo named Coffee (it's a long story) who seems to always get what he wants.

She's a recent graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where, yes, it was really cold and it snowed a lot. Shayna enjoys reading poetry, singing and biking through Washington, where she always stops to pet the dogs on the trail.
